These pitas are great for sandwich or wrap, and pair well with hummus.

In a large bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and add olive oil, syrup or sugar, and most of the water (saving a few tablespoons to add later if necessary).

Use a rubber spatula or spoon to stir the wet ingredients into the flour mixture. If the dough seems dry, add the remaining water.

Divide the dough into six pieces. Dust each piece with flour and roll into a disc that’s between ⅛-inch and ¼-inch thick.

In a skillet, heat 1—2 Tbsp. of oil over medium heat. Add a pita and cook until golden brown on each side (about 1—2 minutes each).

Continue with remaining flatbreads and serve with hummus.
