Try this delicious lentil soup rich in protein! The fenugreek adds more flavor to this delicious soup! 

Ingredients

  1. Add lentils to a bowl and wash well. Add about 4 cups of water, turmeric powder to a large pot and cook until soft.

  2. Separate the leaves of the fenugreek from the stems, wash, chop, and keep it aside.

  3. Meanwhile, in a pan, heat oil and add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and, red chilies, cook for one minute. Add the chopped onions and saute until translucent.

  4. Add the green chilies and grated ginger, and cook for 30 seconds. Add the Fenugreek and the tomatoes and let it cook until the tomatoes are mushy and the fenugreek is soft.

  5. In another small pan, heat oil and the remaining teaspoon of cumin seeds along with the red chili powder.

  6. Pour both mixtures into the cooked lentils, mix well, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes and serve hot with brown rice!
